Dutch India refers to the regions in India that were influenced by the Dutch East India Company (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie, or VOC) during the period of European colonial expansion in the 17th and 18th centuries. The Dutch presence in India was primarily focused on trade rather than territorial conquest, and their activities were concentrated along the coastal areas.
