Comment :
Gangeyadeva Kalachuri was a prominent ruler of the Kalachuri dynasty of Tripuri, which flourished in central India during the 11th and 12th centuries CE. The Kalachuris of Tripuri, also known as the Chedi or Haihaya Kalachuris, established their kingdom with Tripuri (modern-day Tewar, near Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh) as their capital. He led campaigns into regions like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Orissa, aiming to assert dominance over key territories. His conflicts with neighboring kingdoms, such as the Chandelas of Bundelkhand and the Palas of Bengal, underline his ambitious expansionist policies.
Gangeyadeva allied with the Chalukyas of Kalyani in certain campaigns but also faced opposition from neighboring powers like the Paramaras of Malwa.
