Comment :
The name of this ruler is usually read as Kararani however it shoud be corrected to Karrani corresponding to the Karrani / Karlani Pashtun federation of tribes who were the last to resist the Mughal takeover of India after the decline of the Suri Sultans of Delhi and Bengal.
Daud Shah Kararani was the ruler of Bengal Sultanate; he was the youngest son of Sulaiman Khan Karrani. In the reign of his father he was appointed as the commander of massive army of 40,000 cavalry, 3,600 elephants, 140,000 infantry and 200 cannons.
Daud Shah Kararani ruled the Bengal Sultanate from 1572 to 1576 AD. During the reign, he issued silver coins in the denomination of Rupee and Half Rupee. All these coins were struck at Patna, Satgaon, and Tanda mint.
The legend in the obverse right margin and its continuation in the bottom obverse margin is yet to be deciphered, Extremely Fine, Scarce.
