Sunga Dynasty

The Sunga Dynasty (185 BCE – 73 BCE) was an ancient Indian dynasty that emerged in the wake of the decline of the Mauryan Empire. Founded by Pushyamitra Sunga, a former general of the Mauryan emperor Brihadratha, the dynasty played a pivotal role in preserving Indian culture and polity during a turbulent period marked by invasions and internal conflicts.
