In AH 760, Fath Khan was invested with the insignia of royalty by his father Firuz Shah Tughluq (AH752-790/AD1351-1388) and allowed to strike coins in his own name. His domain was the eastern province of the sultanate, the iqlim al-sharq, which later became the independent Sultanate of Jaunpur. In billon there are tankas on the 80 rati standard and coins of 32 rati. The names of the caliphs Abu’l Fath and ‘Abd Allah are included on various of the coins.
