These coins have appeared on the market before with varied provenances ranging from Bharatpur to Jaunpur. As such they have been attributed to various ‘Janapadas’ like ‘Matsya’, ‘Maru’ etc but these attributions remain speculative. The symbols these coins have are entirely geometric and composed of intricate whorls.
