Comment :
The early and most easterly coins of this series are best known from the Narhan hoard. This is the only series from what is now modern Nepal, from the Shakya state, with its capital at Kapilavatsu, about 25 kilometer west of Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. These coin flans were cut to shape and then heated before the single punch mark was stamped. This leaves a bulbous relief on the reverse. The adiitional marks were applied later on, Rare.
